In playing with some of the hidden gems of the Kindle, I’ve noticed a few things:
- The above images were taken directly using the screen capture easter egg (Alt-Shift-G)
- When using the Alt-T for the time command, it gives different output based on where you are. If you are on the home screen and enter Alt-T, you get a digital time display (i.e. 6:25). But if you are in a book or periodical, it displays the time in casual word form (i.e. Twenty-five till six) – notice the image on the left.
- Location based services are spotty (as others have reported). My actual location differs from the displayed location by about a half-mile. Of course this is typical with CDMA based triangulation (Not true GPS).
- Restaurant or gas station lookup has not worked for me as of yet. I’ve only tried this in a couple of different locations.
- I was unable to grab a screen capture of the Minesweeper game.
